CBD tea and drinks
A small range, but a popular one. If you already have a few cups of tea a day, swapping one for a CBD tea is about as easy as it gets.
| Drink | CBD | Shop |
|---|---|---|
| Multitrance CBD teas: black, green, rooibos, chamomile (20 bags) | 7.5mg a bag | CBD tea |
| Multitrance CBD Instant Cappuccino (10 sachets) | 10mg a sachet | Tea and coffee |
| FungaPower Complete Mushroom Complex Coffee | None, it has five mushroom extracts instead | Mushroom coffee |
How many a day?
The FSA advises healthy adults to have no more than 10mg of CBD a day. One tea bag or one cappuccino sachet keeps you within that, but remember to count anything else with CBD in it you have that day. Our CBD tea guide has brewing tips and more.
Can you drive after a CBD drink?
CBD on its own isn’t intoxicating, and these drinks are made to UK rules on THC. But CBD can make some people drowsy, so see how one affects you before you drive, and don’t drive if you feel drowsy. If you’re ever tested at the roadside, the test looks for THC, not CBD.
CBD isn’t recommended for under-18s, or during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you’re trying to conceive or take medication, unless your doctor says so. See the FSA’s advice.
CBD products are food supplements, not medicines, and are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Frequently asked questions
What does CBD tea taste like?
Pretty much like the tea it’s made with. Ours come in black, green, rooibos and chamomile, so anything from a proper builder’s-style cup to something lighter and floral.
Can I drive after drinking CBD tea?
CBD doesn’t get you high, and legal CBD products only have trace amounts of THC. Same as with anything though: if you feel drowsy or unwell, don’t drive.
What are the side effects of CBD tea?
Some people get tiredness, a dry mouth or an upset stomach, and CBD can interact with some medicines. The FSA advises healthy adults to stay at or under 10mg a day, and CBD isn’t recommended if you’re pregnant, breastfeeding or on regular medication.
When should I drink CBD tea?
Whenever you like. The rooibos and chamomile ones have no caffeine, so a lot of people save those for later in the day. Remember the FSA’s 10mg a day.
Can CBD treat anxiety?
No. CBD products in the UK are food supplements, not licensed medicines, so they aren’t a treatment for anxiety or anything else. If you’re struggling, please talk to your GP or call NHS 111.
