CBD chewing gum is a gum infused with cannabidiol (CBD), often hemp-derived, that allows the active compound to be delivered through the mouth tissues (mucous membranes) and into the bloodstream.
The CBD in gum is absorbed sublingually or through the gums, bypassing much of the digestive system. This can lead to faster onset compared to edibles. Many users report effects beginning within 20–30 minutes, though individual metabolism, dose, and whether you’ve eaten recently all play a part.
Typically, a piece of CBD gum is chewed for about 10 to 20 minutes to allow sufficient release and absorption of CBD. Some brands recommend discarding the gum after flavor or CBD release diminishes.
Because legal CBD products are typically made from hemp and contain only trace amounts of THC (often ≤ 0.3%), it is unlikely—but not impossible—that they cause a positive drug test. If THC exposure is a concern, choose products with verified zero or non-detectable levels and consult lab reports.
While many users tolerate CBD gum well, some reported side effects include dry mouth, nausea, diarrhea, fatigue, or mild digestive upset. It may also interact with other medications, so consult a healthcare professional if in doubt.
