Description
KSM-66 is a well-known branded extract of ashwagandha root (Withania somnifera), a plant from the Ayurvedic tradition. It’s made from the root only, not the leaves.
What’s in the tub
60 capsules of 750mg from The Shroom Shop. At one a day, a tub lasts two months. The full ingredients, including what the capsule shell is made from, are on the label.
Taking it
Take one capsule a day with water. Many people find it easiest to take with a meal, at whatever time of day suits them. Don’t take more than one a day.
Please read
Most people are fine with ashwagandha, but it can cause a mild upset stomach or drowsiness, and in rare cases liver problems, particularly at higher amounts. Don’t take it if you’re pregnant or have a hormone-sensitive condition. If you take any medication, or have a thyroid or autoimmune condition, speak to your GP first.
Supplements shouldn’t replace a varied, balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle. If you’re breastfeeding or have a medical condition, check with your GP or pharmacist first. Keep out of reach of young children.
Ashwagandha and “adaptogens”
Ashwagandha is often grouped with mushrooms like Reishi as an “adaptogen”. That isn’t an official category under UK food law, and there are no authorised health claims for ashwagandha. Our mushroom and adaptogen guide explains more, or browse all our supplements.
